VODACOM INSURANCE SUCKS !!!
I am really not satisfied with Vodacom's insurance and I'm really considering canceling the insurance and taking this further .
I am paying more than R300 a month ( for over a year now ) on my insurance and I am regretting that I ever used Vodacom to insure my phone .
On the 16th of March I went to Vodacom ( Blue valley ) to hand in my phone in for repairs , I then asked the consultant how long they will take with this process . He stated that it won't take longer than 21 days ! I received SMSes numerous times asking if I accept or Decline the quotation . I called the number that was given on the SMS and I was told to ignore the SMS because the insurance will give me a call ( which never happened ) .
I waited for almost two days and still nothing happened so I decided I will go to Vodacom (Centurion mall) to follow up with this matter . Cecillia told me that my insurance was not "active " , I could not understand how that was possible because I paid the insurance every month for over a year now ! I then insisted speaking to a Manager .. He then assured me that my insurance was in fact active . This was really confusing me .. What would've happen if I did not ask to speak to a manager ?
The consultant kept saying I should phone the insurance to sort this out myself . I don't understand how this is my problem - I am paying Vodacom not the insurance so they should've handled this ( I am amusing that the consultants are to lazy to do their work. )
Never the less , the manager then said that he will send my phone in and " Prioritize " it . I received a quotation of R1400 but in the contact the highest amount payable is R1000." Excess payable by You" (R45 001 – R50 000 ) . Please see the T&C's attached below .
I also received an SMS stating that the insurance is waiting for parts . How long will this take ? I've been waiting for almost a month and they only ordered the parts today .
I am so disguised with the service it's not even funny .
The excess fee is R1400 . ( Does it cost more than R50 000 to fix a screen ?)
I was told that my phone won't take longer than 21 days and its been 27 days already and they are waiting for parts still .
I am being pushed into a situation and having to take this further .
