Vodacom Insurance Issues

In early 2021, I had two lines with Vodacom (still do); a Samsung S9 and a Huawei P-Smart 2019, both with Vodacom's comprehensive insurance. I upgraded the S9 to a Samsung S21 and submitted a change of insurance to cover the new phone and the old S9. The forms were sent to *** in February 2021.

Now it's 2022, and I need to repair a crack on my S9's screen. I am being told my cover was never updated. They are happy to update my cover and charge me for a year of insurance I never had on my S21.

This is after sending my forms in February 2021 to the correct e-mail address.

Why would I want to backpay for cover I never had?

Fully intend on cancelling all insurance with and avoiding Finrite as a company and all its subsidiaries in the future.

I have not received any contact from a consultant to resolve this query. I have been asked to back-pay R1600 in premiums due to Finrite not doing their job and updating my cover when I asked them to.

Hi Vodacom,

For some reason Finrite has now half updated my policy.

My S21 on the 079 number is now covered but apparently, the SIM is not correct.

The 073 number has not been touched and is still incorrectly covering a Huawei P-Smart.

I have also not received any communications about what is happening - this is all being done in the background.

Can I please get this rectified?

Kind Regards,
Jin

Hi All, So far so good. Thank you for updating my policy. The claim will be done from the Vodacom repair shop in Menlyn – I was told it was approved and I will be paying the excess upon collection of my device. Thank you to Grace for expediting this and those behind the scenes working on it. Although my query was straightforward, I don’t know how it was mixed up so many times, nor do I know how my original request to update was ignored – but I am glad it is finally resolved. Have a nice day. Kind Regards, Jin
