Vodacom insurance is a ****

A year ago I took out insurance with Vodacom for my daughter's cellphone and this was done at the branch

At no stage they gave or sent me policy terms and conditions and I never signed any documents regarding their insurance terms.

Now my daughter's cellphone has cracked and they tell me that the seem card on the phone was not the one insured...I insured the device which the serial number of the phone should correspond and again how could have the sim card prevented the cellphone from cracking.

I called their insurance department. On *** and they lady who assisted me told me that I must go to Ombuds and she was not willing to assist.

I haven't recieved the rejection letter yet or outcome but already the consultant is advising me to go to Ombuds because they are aware that this insurance is a trap or **** for Vodacom to make money and not assist.

My policy reflected that I insured a laptop and it took me 3 hours to get my claim registered because they could not find the cellphone and I never took a laptop with vodacom but insurance at claims stage shows a laptop to prove their incompetency and have the guards to tell me that it was an error at the branch where I took this insurance.

I pay this insurance cash because Vodacom at times didn't debit my account and to protect my ITC I then had to opt out and pay cash...this is what I experience with Vodacom

My contract will finish soon and I do not see myself continuing with ******** but will consider MTN who seem to value and understand their customers..treating them with respect.

The call with Vodacom consultant on *** dropped my call and no one bothered to even return the call.

I will surely take this with Ombuds as per the guide from your representative Vodacom.

I also urge that you listen to my call with vodacom today 11/06/2021 as the consultant was not willing to assist hence she dropped the call when I was starting to challenge her.

Still awaiting feedback from Vodacom sent on the 11th June 2021 and suspect they looking for another reason to push customer away.

Vodacom not putting cust at the center of everything and my daughter is still without a phone.

Perhaps should approach Ombudsman as I will get feedback from them and vodacom will prioritize communication from them compared to one's from us as customers.

Patricia Tilotsane I trust you will properly investigate my claim by first verifying if I was sent policy documents before you reject my claim then secondly, you will listen to my dropped call and provide feedback.

I am shocked that you decided to address your own thing and not my complaint.

Once again I request that you read my complain and feedback me according and share the call dropped as the consultant mentioned that it is recorded which should be available unless vodacom is hiding something then they won't send me the call.

Had I knew about the terms and conditions then I was not going to even bother insuring this device with you.

Please also investigate why was I insured with a Asus laptop? This will also mean that my premium was for a laptop and not Samsung cellphone as this 2 are not the same items and again the laptop is more than the cellphone I claimed for in terms of value so I was over charged in terms of my premium with Vodacom.

Vodacom has a lot to explain to me here and I require answers.

Hi Vodacom

I think I am being fooled as no resolution on my matter and Vodacom is still reviewing my claim.

This matter is not resolved and already your team is rushing to close complaint on social media platform.

I am still awaiting my feedback regarding resolution and requests made to send me call recording and advise why was I charged for Asus laptop if never took same with vodacom and lastly please confirm if vodacom sent me terms and conditions that sim card must be on the phone at all times and advise how the sim card could have prevented the cellphone from falling and cracking...once again this is a **** and ready to escalate further if I don't get any joy from this.
