Vodacom insurance is a ****.

Good day hello peter.

I want to share my terrible experience with the Vodacom insurance. I have been paying my insurance for as long as I can remember without any missed instalments. When it was time to claim I was told that the phone I was claiming for was no longer under insurance. I have two contract phones with Vodacom and I have been paying for both contracts.

On the 08th of February 2023 I upgraded my contract to a new phone and asked the consultant who was helping me to take the insurance from the previous phone and move it to my new phone as the Vodacom account number remains the same, I also explained that my wife will be using her own number in the phone.

Fast forward she got ******, the first thing I did was to call Vodacom. When I called Vodacom, they said the insurance lapsed. Its either I was paying insurance for someone else, or something is not right. I continued to communicate with Vodacom, and they said the phone insured was different from the one we lost, I asked them to email me the phones that I insured they said is an iPhone 12, which is one of my contracts that I didn't upgrade. So, this means I'm paying two insurances for one phone or I'm paying insurance for a phone that doesn't exist, according to me I'm paying two insurances for different phones.

So now I lost money to an insurance that covers a non-existent phone and I'm still liable to pay for the lost phone for the next 3 years.
