Vodacom Insurance Epic Fail
I would just like to express my regret on taking out cellphone insurance with Vodacom. I took out insurance in 2018. The contract at the time was that you should not insert any other networks sim card. And we did that just that. The phone broke a month ago, we took to repair shop at Somerset Waterstone, they came back to us and said Vodacom decline, due IMEI number that changed, but to find out that this was done in 2020, by the same Vodacom repair shop and never communicate from their repair centre to insurance, that they changed the phone's motherboard. The phone break again this year and and when we took to the same repair shop to fix, the insurance declined saying that due to usage claim can't be paid for the fix. Yes we used a different sim card in phone, but it was still vodacom network, as per our contract in 2018. Now you say that your policy has change not to cater for this anymore. I think you just want to not pay out and ******* your clients. I am disappointed in Vodacom insurance and not recommend it to anyone! Rather insure your phone with insurance company, then your certain that your phone is insured, and not T&Cs to keep you bind to their network.
