Vodacom Insurance does not cover the phone Vodacom provided

I have been a Vodacom customer since 2000 and I have 6 contract Vodacom services that I pay for monthly. One of these is Vodacom Top Up contract with a Huawei phone and insurance. The phone was replaced by Vodacom under a warranty claim. I submitted a claim for water damage to the phone. Vodacom insurance rejected the claim. It appears the details of the phone were not updated after the phone was replaced. The insurance call centre and regular Vodacom call centers can't provide any suggested means to resolve this or even an explanation of what should have occurred to prevent this. It's frustrating to pay for insurance for years and then find out that I do not have cover.

I eventually managed to resolve this by going to the Vodacom store where the warranty replacement was done . The store provided a copy of the job card with details of the replacement. I then mailed a scanned copy to to Vodacom Insurance who approved my claim. Apparently this happens "often" according to the staff in the store. The staff in the store also indicated that Vodacom Insurance have access to the system that stores the job cards. There's still no proper explanation of why my claim was rejected in the first place other than poor customer service ; in the end I had to do Vodacom's job for them.
