**Vodacom Insurance: A Legalized Rip-Off**

**Vodacom Insurance: A Legalized Rip-Off**

I’ve been a loyal Vodacom customer for over 20 years, and during every device upgrade, I specifically ask the Vodacom assistant to update my insurance. I currently have three contracts, and due to the complexity of my bill, I typically pay the total amount without scrutinizing each line item.

Recently, one of my devices — an iPhone 13 Pro — accidentally fell and cracked the back glass. The device still functions perfectly. I took it to the Vodacom Repair Centre, only to be told that they don’t repair back glass and the entire device would need to be replaced. However, I was informed that this couldn’t be done because I was “under-insured.”

This raises serious concerns. It appears Vodacom representatives routinely under-insure devices, making it nearly impossible for customers to successfully claim when needed. This way, they continue collecting premiums without ever having to pay out. One of the agents handling my claim, named Promise, was extremely rude — seemingly trained to discourage customers from pursuing claims.

I escalated the issue with another agent, but I’m now left covering the cost due to Vodacom’s internal incompetence. In my view, Vodacom Insurance is a ****** disguised as a legitimate service**. They operate within legal boundaries, but the system is clearly designed to benefit them — not the customer.
