Vodacom Insurance
. I took a Vodacom contract for an iPhone 11 in 2020 along with Insurance. Last year October 2022 I received a call from Vodacom upgrades telling me That I was due for an upgrade. I took a new iPhone 14 and told the person on the line that I would like to continue with my Insurance on the iPhone 11 as I would only take insurance on the iPhone 14 in 2023 once the iPhone 11 is paid up on the 25th of February. The consultant assured me that my iPhone 11 would remain insured and I can continue using the 14pro with my old number. I took my iPhone 11 to Vodacom Sandton City yesterday for repairs as I have been using it for 3 years and it’s lifespan is now giving me problems. The person at the store checked out my details and let me complete a claim form along with a repair form-late afternoon I receive a call from the store telling me that I’m not insured on the 11 anymore that my insurance contract was “automatically “ updated to the iPhone 14Pro. This morning I called *** and explained my situation to a lady named Lumka Nyaka, who kept on telling me about T’s and C’s and would not give me a solution either than telling me that “your claim will be declined even if you update your insurance to the iPhone 11 again”. My issue is that my phone is now sitting at Vodacom Sandton City for repairs and I am unable to pay for it because one person on the call centre will tell me that it’s covered and the other will tell me that “it was an automated system update to iPhone 14” but nowhere along this update was I told that there are new T’s and C’s to your iPhone 11 because of an http://upgrade.It’s really unfair that I have to be humiliated at the store and on the calls seeking answers to valid questions as I have without fail paid for this insurance for 3 years without any hassles along with my contract and don’t expect such treatment from a company such as Vodacom. Please have this resolved for me ASAP and advise when my phone will be repaired?
