Vodacom Incorrectly Damaged My Credit Record — No Resolution After Months
I am extremely disappointed with Vodacom’s handling of a serious issue that has negatively affected my credit record.
In May 2025, Vodacom made an error on my debit order and incorrectly reported a “missed payment” to Experian, which now reflects on ClearScore. I have an impeccable credit history, and this incorrect listing has damaged my credit score through no fault of my own.
I contacted Vodacom multiple times and even engaged in a chat session with an agent (Thandiwe Mirriam) on 20 May 2025. In that chat, Vodacom confirmed and acknowledged the mistake:
“Yes, it was a mistake from Vodacom’s side as they were supposed to debit the R5.44…”
The agent also confirmed that the matter was escalated to Subscriber Collections and that it would be referred to the legal team with a 7–14 working day turnaround. Months have now passed, and nothing has been corrected. The negative mark still appears on my credit report.
This is unacceptable and unprofessional. I have been a loyal Vodacom customer for over 20 years, always paying on time, with a clean history across all credit bureaus. Now my reputation is harmed over R5.44 due to Vodacom’s own error.
I need urgent assistance to:
Remove the incorrect missed-payment listing from Experian/ ClearScore immediately.
Provide written confirmation that Vodacom acknowledges the error.
Explain why no action was taken after my initial complaint and promised escalation.
Have a senior manager contact me directly regarding this matter.
This issue must be resolved as a priority. My credit record should not suffer because of Vodacom’s administrative mistake.
