Vodacom incompetence
I had the severe misfortune of having to visit Vodacom at Cresta Centre in Randburg this afternoon, after having spoken to a very helpful customer care lady named Daisy, who informed me that I needed to get a new SIM card. A very helpful gentleman (whose name I forget) checked my phone, and informed me that it wasn't the SIM card, but rather the phone itself - which had in most probability been damaged when I had the screen replaced by an independent merchant. Now having been sold a new contract, for an additional R85, for a OPPO (apparently an excellent new brand on the SA market) to replace my Samsung, I dutifully paid for the new contract and handed my phone over to a gentleman named Thabelo to transfer all my info onto my new phone. Due to time constraints and an appointment at the office, I arranged for my boyfriend to collect my phone and pay the additional fee of R200 for data transfer. The end result? I now have a phone without all the previous apps. My brand new phone screen is also already scratched, as the free screen protector and cover, were not put onto the phone. In addition, my boyfriend was not given the box, a copy of the contract or the charger or any add-ons that come with the phone. I don't have the time or money to run around after Vodacom in order to rectify their crass incompetence. I would like them to collect the phone they gave me from my offices, replace it with a new phone without a scratched screen, and transfer ALL the data from my Samsung to the new device. They are then to deliver the entire package - including ear phones, charger etc. to my offices. I am working on Saturday, so this too i not an option.
