Vodacom Inadequte Assistance

So, I wrote a review last week and suddenly Vodacom woke up - or so I thought...I have been trying since May of this year to cancel my contracts (bear in mind that the original contract end date was June). So when I phoned the person told me about this awesome contract I could take instead of going over to pay-as-you-go.

Said okay, yes, that sounds like a good package. I wanted this for 2 numbers. Was told that if I wish to cancel then I have 14 days to do so. Phone within those 14 days and from there it was just a total mess. I asked them to stop one of the upgrades (they did it on the wrong number). Then they had to do a reversal on that and cancel the other number. That it seems they couldn't do either.

I eventually just said I wanted to cancel everything...still the consultants wanted to sell me another contract! Was told by a consultant that my last payment would be end of July and it would only be R430. Guess what, got my bill and it was almost R700! Phone again (by this time I had spoken to roughly 14 people - always different person). That consultant seems to have disappeared because no-one could put me through to her to speak to her.

Phone again on the 17th July to ensure that the contract was cancelled and got reference numbers. Guess what? The contracts weren't cancelled. None of these numbers are found on the system Vodacom uses for cancellations.

Posted a review on HelloPeter last week and got a call from someone on Monday because of my post on HelloPeter. They said someone would phone me yesterday (which they did) and was told that the numbers had not been cancelled as yet. Was given new reference numbers yesterday for the cancellation of the contracts. I received a bill for August that was going to be processed on the 25th August which I absolutely refuse to pay and was told by the consultant that a service request would be logged and that hopefully it would be completed before my account was debited on the 25th. That seems to not have happened as I am still waiting for the service request ticket number and for the consultant to call me back. Consultant told me that if the debit order does go off my account, that Vodacom would credit me...They must be joking. Seems the only thing to do is to go to the bank and have the debit orders reversed.

In addition, I requested a copy of all the call logs I made regarding this - guess what? Still haven't received anything.
