Vodacom in Default
In 2019 my income was affected and therefore got behind on my Vodacom Account. After making a payment arrangement over the phone of R200 they send me an email stating that I did not pay the commitment made of R1000.00. I then immediately send them an email stating that I did not commit to R1000.00 and that I can only pay R200.00 they must please acknowledge this arrangement. No reply received from Vodacom. I then started receiving emails with only Invoices reflecting R0 balance. After consulting a Vodacom Chats store they advised me that if receiving R0 balance invoices that there is nothing owing as it is now prepaid service. In 2020 due to Covid I lost my income completely. In September without a phone call or email notifying me that they are cutting the service completely, they terminated my contracts. I then received an Invoice stating that I now owe R48 000.00 for the devices. I again immediately send them an email stating that I was not contacted nor informed about this termination. I am prepared to make an arrangement of R500 per month to pay off the original debt but not the R48 000 as Vodacom is not coming back with acknowledgement of arrangement. I was then diverted to collections department where still no answer has been received. I then about a month ago received a Call from TJ Moaodi Inc stating that I now owe R87 000 and an immediate payment must be made. They did not want to listen to reason or an arrangement. I then went in to the Vodacom store and they send an email to the accounts and legal team stating my case. They came back with an answer that the account is no longer with Vodacom but with TJ Moaodi Inc. After phoning them again they demanded the payment in full. Again I went to the Vodacom store and ask the owner to please assist in this matter as I am willing to pay R500 pm on the original debt not the R48 000.00. She came back to me stating that they cannot help me as this account is no longer with Vodacom. I have send an email to the ceo aswell and they also rep**** that the account is no longer with Vodacom but handed over to Moaodi. I feel that Vodacom is in Default as they had the original payment arrangement wrong and with no feedback or acknowledgement of payment arrangement this escalated to where I am know and now nobody wants to help, only demanding the R87 000 which is ridiculous as R48 000 could not have accumulated that much interest for the 41 days they had the account handed over to them. Which I have to say that no contact was made in the 41 days.
