VODACOM IGNORING CANCELLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND DEBIT ORDER KEEPS GOING OFF

I was advised in-store, in December 2019, to phone the vodacom contracts and cancellations number in January for my contract that was expiring in January (2020) to give instructions to cancel the contract as I did not want it to be renewed upon expiry. I called the contract and cancellations department on the 6th of January and gave instructions to cancel the contract, making it clear that I did not want to renew the contract, neither did I want the monthly airtime that I was receiving as part of the contract (i.e. I was cancelling everything so no debits orders should be going off). I was told by the consultant that the last debit order would go off at the end of January, which I said was fine.

But at end of February another debit order went of and monthly airtime was loaded even though I had given instructions to cancel it. So I called the cancellations department again on the 1st of March to find out why the contract was not cancelled. I was put through to the manager who, after listening to the recording of the the first call I had made in January, confirmed that the contract was not cancelled despite my instructions given to cancel the contract and that they will cancel it then and credit my account for when they shouldn't have billed me. Yet another debit order went off at the end of March. My account has not been credited for these months when I shouldn't have been billed and every month the debit order goes off and I have to keep phoning the bank to reverse these debit orders, for which I have to pay bank charges. I have tried contacting vodacom to try to stop these debit orders and get my accounted credited but have had no progress. I have tried phoning the contracts and cancellations department but because the contract is expired, it doesn't allow me to speak to a consultant, giving a message that they cannot assist prepaid users and that I should use the customer care number. When contacting customer care, they say that I need to contact the Accounts department. I have phoned accounts 3 times already, with no one willing to help me or even listen properly to the issue. They just keep transferring me the the contracts and cancellations department which again gives the message of being unable to help prepaid users and not allowing me to speak to a consultant. I have told them this when phoning accounts and yet they still keep transferring me. So how am I supposed to get the issue sorted? I have tried going to the vodacom stores as well, but they tell me that they no longer have the in-store functionality to assist with this and that I have to do it over the phone.

It is extremely unacceptable and ********* that the contract wasn't cancelled when instructions were given to do so, and they keep taking off money. I cannot get help from accounts saying that I need to speak to cancellations department, and I cannot even get through to cancellations because on the system, my number is no longer on contract. But a debit order goes off at the end of every month and there's nothing I can do about it. Really disappointing. Did not expect this from such a reputable service provider like vodacom. Please assist.
