Vodacom ignore and slam the phone down in the customers ear maybe they will go away.

On the 13th June 2016 I went into the Vodacom store in Cresta to renew my Red Advantage Contract. The device I wanted was not available and I was advised to enquire at the iStore. The iStore had the device and I was required to prove my ID and Residence. ( I have only been a Vodacom customer for the previous 4-5 years.)

I did all of this and was informed by Ryno at the iStore that due to Vodacoms new 3D system approval would take about 48 hours. On the 16th June I popped into the store to check if approval had been granted and was informed NO. On the 18th June I again poped into the store and the situation had not been resolved. I then contacted Vodacom customer care to try and resolve the matter, but nobody could clarify the reason for the hold up. I then phoned Vodacom renewals to resolve the matter and was informed that there is no hold up. I went back to the iStore to resolve the matter, the matter and spoke to renewals in the store. As it turns out I was misinformed by Vodacom renewals. I asked the consultant Graham how do I resolve this matter and he could not answer. I was asked to log a complaint. I did and nothing was forth coming. On the 20th June I went to the iStore and instructed Selma the sales agent to call Vodacom so that I could resolve this thing once and for all. We eventually got put through to Morwa. A so called manager, when I spoke to Morwa I was told that he does not speak to customers and that I need to hand the phone back to the agent, I refused having never heard such utter nonsense, and the phone was slammed down in my ear. I wrote a complaint to Vodacom that evening and a reference number was issued. I received a call that evening informing me that my complaint would be escalated. The next day I went to the iStore to follow on their side and I was given feed back that Morwa was actually not a Manager but a call center agent acting as a Manager. I Never heard another thing until the 27th June when I missed a call from Gino, I then received an email informing me that Morwa had been dealt with and here was a My Gig 1 Data bundle, and that the complaint was now closed. I complained again informing Vodacom that the complaint was not closed as the jist of my complaint had not been addressed.

I logged a complaint explaining that the matter was not closed and that it would only be closed when the jist of the complaint was addressed. On the 4th July I had not heard anything so I followed up, I spoke to Ron. I was informed that the matter has been escalated and that some body would get hold of me to keep me posted. As of today I had heard nothing so I contacted 082111 was put through to 3D Migration. I held for 55 minutes eventually I got through to Chantelle, friendly and generally helpful but more of the same. The matter has been escalated someone will get back to you in due course. Chantelle put me onto her team leader Kelly. Kelly said much the same but that I should contact renewals as the system indicates that it has been escalated to the renewals section and that I should follow up with them. I did contact renewals where I was informed that my next renewal/upgrade was due in March 2018. I find that interesting considering that I have not agreed to extending my contract until my complaint is settled. When I eventually got through to the call center agent the call was dropped again. No attempt to fill me in on the latest developments has been made.

It has become abundantly clear to me No body knows what is going on at Vodacom. They don't give a ****. They are not interested in Customer satisfaction and a complaining customer if ignored long enough will eventually go away if treated like a mushroom. (Kept in the Dark and fed...)

Cassandra.
Thank you for your call. You have certainly improved my Vodacom experience. Please would you place the jist of our discussion in writing. It is important that I have a chain of evidence. I do not want Vodacom renaeging on any agreements put in place.
Unfortunately the past months events have made me extremely cautious of Vodacoms ability to deal with a client professionally and ethically. It appears you may be the only person at Vodacom that does give a **** about customer satisfaction. Once the final paper work is in place I will conclude my contractual agreement for the following 24 months. I will only do this on receipt of the requested email.
