Vodacom, I want my number back!

I owed some money on my Vodacom account. I was handed over to a legal department. I paid the outstanding money as soon as the legal department contacted me but my number was blocked. I asked the legal department to unblock the number and they said they "couldn't". I have to re-apply for the number??? I contacted Vodacom customer care. They said I lost my number??? The number cannot be re-instated to me?? I went all the way to Vodaworld to try and speak to someone face to face. Same story. We logged a "reinstatement" on my account, but no joy. How is this possible??? Vodacom indicated they sent an SMS before blocking my number. REally???? Who reads SMS's nowadays???? I want my number back as no funds are outstanding!!!I have been struggling for months with this... No joy from Vodacom although I have been paying approximately R2000 per month for the past couple of years.
