Vodacom, how to resolve your issue - hold them accountable by using ICASA..
Unfortunately there appears to be a lack of communication within the call center, and it is really really bad. I had to phone over 100 times to get my contract cancelled, and that never resolved the problem, in the end I had to log a ticket here, https://vadminlikeminds.freshdesk.com/support/login and threaten action from ICASA, using this procedure here, https://www.icasa.org.za/pages/consumer-complaints. If you want results follow the 2 steps above and you will be helped, if not escalate, to ICASA. ICASA will get involved if you follow their procedure. Remember ICASA holds the crown jewels of all the communication's companies, and therefore they can squeeze hard and get a result that works for you.
The reason phoning the call center does not work: No reference number is issued No tie to an electronic system that will hand messages between staff No email, or so I was told
Final note, there were many helpful staff that attempted to assist me. But for some reason it seemed only 1 of them could resolve my issue. Additional to the above electronic system issues, there is a lack of visibility within Vodacom which might come across as a call center agent that does not care, when in fact the call center agent feels helpless. Please be kind to them, and understand they sit in that seat to help you. I got extremely frustrated with many of them as they could not help me, but in the end, none of them were rude, they all listened, and they all tried to help.
Overall as a customer my experience was terrible, in spite of the above, it took me 2 and a half months to resolve this issue. Vodacom I place the blame squarely on your management, and definitely NOT on your helpful call center.
PS I see Vodacom is reaching almost 100,000 complaints on HelloPeter (currently at 96,000+ at time of writing). Surely you guys are looking into this? I mean after all you are the best cellphone network in South Africa, right?
