Vodacom Homemark Falsely misleading pensioners into new contracts by telling them it is Upgrades!

This post is on behalf of my parents. My dad is retired and doesn't speak English well. He was contacted telephonic by Vodacom telling him that he is due for an upgrade and that this service is offered over the phone. They also informed him of a 2 for 1 offer, which he thought was fantastic, as he is a pensioner. Two weeks later he received his new two cell phones and took it to Vodacom Shop in BelaBela to get assitance with transferring their SIM cards into the new phones. The shop then advised them that the new phones came with new contracts and SIM cards, and that in fact was NOT an upgrade, as they were told. They immediately asked the shop to cancel the contracts and send back the phones, but the shop couldn't help as they said it had nothing to do with Vodacom! Frustrated and worried, my parents phoned Vodacom Customer Care and were given the run-around again. Finally they managed to contact Vodacom After Care Services and was told that a courier will be collecting the phones and that the contracts will immediately be cancelled. This was on 7 April 2019 already. By May, a few phone calls further and e-mails to try and get this resovolved but still nothing. In the meantime debit orders started going off my dad's account, which he again advised Vodacom on and said that he will be cancelling the debit orders for the two new lines, as he never agreed to new lines, and was under the impression that the phones would be collected and lines would be cancelled. Today, 20 June I once again assisted my dad in contacting Vodacom to try and get them to collect the two phones and cancel the contracts. I too was sent from one call centre to the next, and after trying for the whole day to assist my parents, I just didn't manage to help at all. My last resort - do a review on HelloPeter. Hopefully someone will see this and be able to help.

Reviewer Update
Good day, Believe it or not, it is now 7 months later, and this matter is still unresolved. My parents are still sitting with the contract handsets sealed in a box and no one has ever collected or tried to collect! To top this off, they have now been contacted by Vodacom Legal Department via sms, threatening legal action for the outstanding contract amount!!! Can one company really be this ***********? This is an outcry for help and assistance please!!! If anyone can assist please contact me as a matter of urgency!
