Vodacom have no idea what they are doing

My daughter had a contract with Vodacom. She has asked for a quote to settle her contract and to cancel it. She paid the amount quoted and has confirmed that her account has been cancelled. Now she gets threatening calls from Vodacom lawyers that her account is in arrears, and that they are going to take legal action. Do not use Vodacom as a service provider!
