Vodacom has terrible service and does not follow up!

I have been a loyal Vodacom customer for 16 years now, but Vodacom can expect to loose a loyal customer on my next renewal purely because of bad service and being greedy thinking they can hold their customers hostage and customers must just be happy with it and keep on handing over their money to a company that does not know the first thing about customer service.

I have a Sony Xperia Z3 that worked great up until about a month back when the wifi connection just dropped. The WiFi would scan, but never connect or connect for a few seconds at a time. As a heavy data user this impacted on my day to day data usage on the contract.

I took the phone in to Vodaworld repair center self since it is still under warrantee. First off I had to sit and wait in line for an hour. After the hour my number was called and the technician explained that she has to do a factory reset and possible reload the firmware. I was willing to wait and handed the phone over so the process could start.

After two hours I came back and the technician was gone. I took another ticket and waited another 30 minutes in line for my number to be called. Eventually it was my turn and the person assisting me had to find the phone. They eventually found my phone, but nothing that was done solved the problem. At that point I was told that the phone must be booked in and sent in for repairs. I was willing to do that and requested a loan unit while my phone was in for repairs.

My phone was booked in for repairs and Vodacom gave me a sub par ****py loan unit. At that point I was happy with it and just wanted my phone to be fixed. I spent 4 hours of my time and used my fuel and wear and tear on my car to hopefully get my phone repaired.

A week later I was notified that my phone was repaired and ready for collection. The agent phoning me told me the main board or something on the main board was replaced. I was happy with that en ventured back to Vodaworld from Krugesrdorp to collect my "fixed" phone.

At arrival I had to get a ticket and wait in line again. After more than an hour I eventually got my turn again. When I received my phone back, the first thing I did was to switch it on and see if the problem was resolved. Low and behold..... The phone was in the exact same state, the problem was not resolved while one of the values stuck on the wall at Vodaworld was value number 9.... Customer walk out working.... Well guess what.... This is not the case Vodacom. Better change your values cause you don't live up to them.

After a huge argument with a manager there I walked out furious with a non-repaired phone. Vodacom wanted to book it in again and I refused because I expect something to be fixed, TESTED and working the first time.... Especially if the unit is still under warrentee and I pay trhough my neck every month.

A Vodacom representative phoned me to ask how their service was the week after. I told this person that I was unhappy and explained the scenario. The representative said he would escilate the matter and get it resolved..... I am still waiting Vodacom.... Thanks for nothing. Your escilation procedures does not work and your management is too scared to speak to their customers directly since you know you don't give a **** about your customers. It is impossible to speak to a person that can really do something about the problem between all the voice prompts and excuses by employees why I can't speak to someone senior.

I can't even cancel my contract because of all the penalties for early cancellation even if Vodacom does not hold their end of the bargain. This is just plain corporate monopoly and another example that Vodacom does not give a **** about their customers. It's all about the money and nothing else.

Today, 16 June 2016, I went to Cresta to hand in my phone again to hopefully (which I have very little faith in) get my phone fixed for once and for all. I was told again it would take 7 to 21 days and that they don't have loan units.

I walked out, I expect a loan unit if Vodacom is going to keep a phone for that long.

I am sorry Vodacom, you have wasted 9 hours of my time, you have wasted my petrol and wear and tear on my car. In the meantime I had to pay you... Vodacom more to buy more data bundles since my WiFi is not working and I am forced to use mobile data.

This is unacceptable and I expect a resolution to this problem and I don't want to hear the we are so sorry and our customers are important to us. You don't give a ****.

Update,
Vodacom responded with reference number A2-1QUA-LLAUQ and stated that I should book the phone in at the Cresta repair center and that they organised with management there that a loan phone will be available. It was also said in the mail that the repair will be prioritised.
I drove to Cresta and the management there knew nothing about the arrangement and had no loan units available. Needless to say, I have not booked in my phone and walked out disappointed..... Yet again. Another two hours of my time wasted.
I rep**** to the mail I received from Vodacom and stated that a loan unit was not available as promised. Only three days later did I get a reply that the person dealing with the complaint is on leave and that the a new person will follow up.
It is five days later now and I have not received any reply or solution.
Thanks Vodacom, it is now clear that you will not be able to resolve this issue and it is also clear that I will not be making use of your services once my contract expires.
