Vodacom Happily Habouring ********* and Harrasing Customers

My mother has repeated reported to Voadcom that someone, possibly through the assistance of someone within Vodacom has **********ly obtained out an iPhone 14 contract in her name, which she is being billed for. This was initially reported to Vodacom in December 2022 and to date no investigation or resolution has been provided by the company. This is even though she has made several follow up, electronically and in person. It's annoying to say the least that the staff at the various branches can not help her and the only channel she is directed to , email is either not maned or the staff is just blatantly ignoring her... honestly Vodacom can do better!! As if not having systems and controls in place to prevent this type of things from happening is not bad enough, customers are left frustrated with no effective channel to go to for assistance, really? The telephone number she was also provided is never answered and instead she is now receiving emails from debt collectors as she has reversed a few debt orders that have gone off on her account. It would really be interesting to know why a company such as Vodacom is ignoring reports of ***** unless its something that promoted by the company and they are deriving joy in frustrating their customers, with the pathetic customer services from their online platforms. Below is the original email that was sent to *** sent on 22 December 2022, this was followed by an email requesting her to send an ID copy and affidavit, which she emailed back on 28 December 2023 after which all her subsequent emails were ignored!!! "Kindly assist as it seems that someone ********** upgraded my contract and collected an iPhone under my name.

This came to my attention when I realized that my 60G data sim card was only now receiving 1G, roughly a month ago. Due to work constraints I was unable to visit my nearest Vodacom branch to enquire about this.

I finally got a chance to visit the branch on 21st of December 2022 and was then informed that the contract had expired and the promo on the data SIM card was no longer applicable. I was also informed that my contract had been updated and an iPhone was purchased in my name and delivered to Cape Town. I was shocked as to how this happened as I didn't apply for an upgrade and do not live in Cape Town. and I don`t know anyone who stays there.

I checked my bank statement and discovered that two debit orders of R1069,65 each which amounts to R2139, 30 have been collected from my account without my consent. I then checked my emails and found the attached contract application which was sent to me, I only saw this after visiting the branch as I haven?t had access to my emails for a few months. It is concerning that the contract was concluded i.e. good we?re delivered even without me signing the contract and no due diligence was followed by Vodacom to authenticate the upgrade request or the drastic change of address

It is my request that I be refunded all monies that have been debited from my account and that all my existing contracts with Vodacom be terminated with immediate effect as the company lacks control processes to ensure the safety of their clients information.

Your prompt response will be highly appreciated"
