Vodacom got me by the *****
Vodacom didn't debit my account due to "insufficient funds" and put me into arrears with penalty charges and I called their accounts department to get banking details to pay off the payment but the lady by the name of Amanda informed me that a debit order has been sent to my bank to debit the money owed. I insisted that the lady should send me the banking details to make cash payment as I didn't want this matter to repeat itself and I, the victim to be charged another penalty fee.
Amanda sent me the below message that has no banking details. "Hi, Simply complete a Nedbank deposit slip and include your Vodacom account I***6 as the reference number. Please call *** for any queries."
I'm still waiting for the banking details even now, while I was waiting for the banking details I paid my bank a visit to find out why Vodacom was unable to debit my account but to my surprise my bank never received any mandate from Vodacom for the previous month and the current month and according to Amanda, the debit order has already gone out for the current month.
1. Vodacom is not sending the debit mandate to my bank and it's making it seem like I am at fault 2. I accept the fault and request to make cash payment but I never get the banking details to do so 3. I want to cancel my contract with Vodacom but I can't do that until I settle the arrears with Vodacom
I feel like I'm being held at ransom by Vodacom and I can't escape. All I want is to pay the outstanding amount and close the damn account
