Vodacom goes ahead with vat increase
All businesses in south africa that i have contracts with or make payments too, withdrew there 0.5% increase on vat (when it was withdrawn from the current budget) and restored the current payment amounts before the debit order date, except for vodacom. Please explain why your business is above government, as other businesses sent out notifications when the increase came about, and also then responded promptly when the adjustment was withdrawn, notifying customers that no increases will be made as yet, this included reputable companies like my bank, aswell as other service providers.

21 May 2025, 20:29My account was debited with the increase from vodacom 1 May 2025 , where as other businesses that i have debit orders with, sent emails about the vat increase when it was announced, and also sent a notification when the vat increase was halte, tthat they would revert to tbe normal/current installment. Vodacom debited my account with the vat increase amount and not the amount i had previously paid the months prior.
