Vodacom getting too BIG for their shoes.
I app**** some three months ago for the installation of Fibre optic cable for internet connection.
This was subsequently installed and fibre optic internet was installed beginning of July. As the old LTE data contract was still in place and valid until end September 2021 we had both systems functioning.
I was requested by Vodacom to cancel the LTE contact beginning September 2021. On 29 August 2021 I called the Vodacom Call centre and went through the steps of cancelling the contract. I was informed that cancellation was to be activated and I will receive a SMS and email. I did receive a SMS on 30 August that indicates that the requested was received. When I followed up on Monday 13 September 2021 after holding the line I was informed that they could not get my details. After some time I was informed that they managed to find the details of the LTE contract. There is 2 seperate accounts on my name, after a huge ruckus 4 or 5 months ago about the issue and I was assured that the accounts was combined. I was subsequently told that as I was only cancelling my contract on the 13 september2021 I was eligible to pay for September as well as October.
I was informed that the contract is payable in arrears which is contrary to previous information from Vodacom.
I am of the opinion that these large institutions are ripping customers of and taking us for granted, especially in the telecommunications and data industry.
My new Fibre optic contract was moved within one month to another service provider and I will be influencing my family and students at the University NOT to use Vodacom in future.
Not only is the service delivery of Vodacom appalling but their data cost is still very expensive in the day and time where we have to work from home and are moving to online shopping.
Vodacom shame in you!
