Vodacom gave my number away and added a false number to my contract
Somebody really needs to do something about vodacom not giving a hoot for clients.
My problem started 15 feb 2017, when i came home from work i noticed my phone kept saying no signal. I then restarted it a couple of times and it did not work. I then put my sim in another phone and yep, it still did not work. It kept saying "no signal".
So i proceded to call the contact center from my wifes phone. They asked for the number in question and i gave it. The lady asked me my details and then shocked me. She said " im sorry but i cannot go into someone elses details . You are not the owner of this number" Ok so now i was worried. she was not helpfull as i explained it was my number for more than 10 years. She just ignored me. A trick i learned from a friend is to call again because idiots do exist in every business. I phoned and spoke to about 10 agent to date and they all think im trying a ***** move. I then called and spoke to a helpfull guy Vusi. I told him to either block the number or do a sim swop because i suspect someone is trying to ***** my number and my personal details if it succeeds to go through. He looked up the details and told me he thinks he knows whats happening. It so happens that somewhere somebody upgraded a prepaid sim " in a Vodashop" to contract. And when the agent entered the details of the number, they by mistake confused mine for his. This is because the agent was not concentrating. My number and this client at the Vodashop was identicle except for two numbers which was switched around. So now i know the problem. Vusi said he cant do anything? How can someone take my number and not inform me of the mistake? He also added that at the Vodashop the agent made a note of the mistake but did not rectify it and told me to go in to a vodashop and they can assist me. When i got to the vodashop in canal walk today they wanted proof. i showed them proof of recharge sms's from last year. The agent said ok but i need an affidavid from police. I then spike to the manager who said he will take it further and call me in 1 hour. Obviously he did not. So now i have no number. And because i use the phone everyday for work, i have none coming in. When i explain this to them they say they are sorry but the system shows its on someone elses name. Even though i call the number and it is dead. The 1 agent at the call center Vusi said they actuallydont know how to fix it thats why i should go in.
So now what. I have been told to buy sim cards. I have been told to get proof. I have been told to go to the police. But Vodacom just says sorry sir.
I dont know where to turn anymore if not icasa then it has to be my absa law for you lawers. This is Really the last straw. Im reasonable. But i cant reason with idiots. Nobody should take out a vodacom contract. They want your money but not "your" problems. My Wife has now taken out another vodacom contract "big mistake to help me. This contract has 2 phone and 2 sims. You wont believe what i heard today. When we called because of an sms that the debit did not go off, the agent told us it was for a 3rd number that was added to the contract. Vodacom is just unbelievable. So NOW im sitting with 2 ****ups. Vodacom says.....sorry sir but you must pay for the third number, which is off if you call it by the way. lol
1.My prepaid number was deleted. 2.A third number was *****eulently added to my wifes account.
