Vodacom. Further Apart.
Vodacom’s new slogan is Further Together. My husband and I recently moved house. Our old house had Vumatel and we had Vodacom as fibre service provider. Our new house has Vumatel (we were so happy about that - spoiler alert, premature happiness). We both work from home and with the kids at home as well we absolutely have to have fibre. Our security system is also linked to the internet…) We logged a call with Vodacom on 26 June (2021) and to date, still no fibre. Vumatel has been to our house to do whatever they had to do, but despite countless calls to Vodacom they just cannot seem to switch our fibre on. Every time we call we get a new “service request” number “that will be actioned between 24 to 48 hours”. We have so many service request numbers at this stage that I am sure it must be some kind of Vodacom record. My husband has pleaded with them, shouted at them, pleaded some more and I think (although he was trying to hide it) he was crying on one of the calls. We have been having to buy data for 4 weeks. I am talking a lot of money. Our security system is not activated. My husband is on the brink of bad-service-depression. I am on the brink of moving from water to vodka. All we want is for Vodacom to provide us with Fibre, so that we can continue (10 years plus customers) to pay them lots (and I mean lots) of money every month. I also want to see my husband give a broadband smile again. Please help us Vodacom. (It will be interesting to see if we will be billed for our non-existent fibre this month) Further Together? More like Further Apart.
We were fairly sure their reputation would be important to them.
It seems Vodacom must be so used to unsatisfied customers that they are happy to put long (I mean lengthy) complaints on the back-burner.
(Must be a massive griddle….)
