VODACOM FRUSTRATION
For approximately three years the writer has struggled to obtain Invoices & statements via email. After years of having to email Vodacom insisting they be sent by email the writer, in total frustration wrote to Vodacom's company secretary explaining the on-going problem. Within a few hours I was contacted by a Vodacom IT technician. During the inter-actions that took place in determining what the problem was the writer was advised that my computer was the problem and was, for some reason, blocking Vodacom from being able to deliver same by email. The writer confirms receiving all emails nationally and internationally from a multitude of companies & associates without any problems. Later, I was discussing the problem with an IT expert and it transpired that he also experienced on-going issues obtaining same for Vodacom. Further, a corporation to which he is contracted to experiences the same problems with over 100 company owned Vodacom phones. On following-up I visited two Vodacom shops and requested them to print invoices and statements for my Vodacom account both were willing to do so and both mentioned numerous Vodacom customers often ask for the same assistance. So in conclusion, it appears the problem is far greater than the writers problem. Whether Vodacom would admit to this situation is unlikely. As a credit provider Vodacom has a direct responsibility of providing their customers with invoices and statements and whereas these initial enquiries are superficial it requires further investigation by the FSB to establish exactly what the facts are and take appropriate corrective action.
