Vodacom *****ulantly making debit orders from my account
Vodacom has allowed a contract to be opened under my name by someone I do not even know. On the dates the contract was opened in East London Hemmingways mall I was in Port Elizabeth (I even submitted proof of this). I was told to ask to get the copies of the original contract and found that my ID which was ****** last year was used, but every other details were fictitious, this includes a payslip and bank statement that was easily drafted by the individual. After getting an affidavit and submitting proof that I was not even in East London at the time, their ***** department (email address: ***) has failed to contact me with regards to the matter. I even submitted my signature as they requested, according to the consultant this is to compare my signature with the signature that was used on the original contract, upon request of the original contract I found that there wasn't even a signature on it yet it was still approved by Vodacom. It has been 2 weeks now and despite the fact that they said the matter would be resolved in 1 to 2 weeks, it has not been the case. I have been trying to follow up and was referred to their billing department too, the billing department gave me a contact number to call the ***** department myself and they tried to put me through their line but the number says it does not exist. Upon speaking with my friends I have found that this is not the first time the Vodacom in Hemmingways **********ly approved and activates cellphone contracts. I do not even have a sim card with Vodacom I was quite shocked to hear that I had purchased an iPhone 12 on contract while I was in PE.
