Vodacom *****ulant Upgrade

Wow… where to start… Shocking service received from Vodacom to say the least. This after been a paying customers for almost 15 years now…

One of my Vodacom contracts was a R99/month data card that I just kept near my laptop in the event that wifi or other network downtime occurs. In Sep 2017 I realized that I suddenly getting billed R1169 every month. I obviously queried it and receive the shocking response from Vodacom customer services that it was for a ********** upgrade too a “Red Advance” contract and issue of a new I-phone 6. I expressed my concern and told them that I did not approve, request or sign any receipt for such an upgrade and also did not give any consent to deduct more than R99/month from my bank account. I must have logged more than 10 calls with the customer service department. Then, instead of providing proof of this upgrade (non-existent) they further inconvenient myself and insisted that I under oath performed an Affidavit, which took almost the entire morning at the Police station.

My FNB banker (Great service) managed to get the last 3 months debit orders reversed and blocked further debit orders going off. However still received statements monthly and then got invoice R18,974.82 for the cancellation of the contract. I then spend an entire afternoon at VodaWorld in Midrand to try and resolve the matter with the most unserviceable customer care staff. They promised to escalate the matter and get it resolved. Shocking this was not the case and they now handed the matter over for legal collection and threatening to “black list” myself if not paid before the end of this month (June 2017). I now also face the challenge to get a lawyer involved at great expenses to get this matter resolved.

This bullying tack-ticks and don’t care attitude from Vodacom is "Mind boggling" and must be one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had. I’ve now cancelled all my other cellular contracts with them and refuse to ever provide banking details to any service provider in this country for debit orders.

Regards,

Tired paying customer…
