Vodacom, ***** and ***** service providers.

I had taken out a Vodacom contract in years past which had run its course and I am using prepaid. I was therefore surprised to be contacted by someone who purported to be an employee of Symington and de Kock attorneys in Bloemfontein who told me that I was 8 months in arrears on my Vodacom contract - which had completed 18 months ago. They then told me it was most likely ***** and I should email my ID with 3 of my signatures on it to them and they would make it go away.

I was (and still am) reluctant to do this, as this firm is based in Bloemfontein and I am not able to verify their existence as a "good player" in the market. I offered to Vodacom to present myself with ym ID at any store in the Cape Town area to verify my identity, but according to Vodacom, once I had been handed over, there was nothing they could do. Vodacom, why did you wait for 8 months of arrears before handing me over and you never phoned me once during this time? Symington and de Kock have offices in Cape Town, so I offered to present myself and my ID there for inspection, this was also not suitable as the two branches apparently don't even do the same kind of work.

Today, I received a call from a representative of MDG Inc who now requests me to submit an affadavit via email. After a bit of Googling, I can't even verify this email address or company.

In short, Vodacom my questions to you are this:

What went wrong in your RICA process to issue this ********** contract?

Why did you never ever bother to call me, the "customer"?

Why is it that you can't manage your own debt?

Lastly, do you really think that you sharing my information with 3rd parties who I haven't met and who request me to send them delicate information is the best way to deal with *****?

Ay, Vodacom... Always so fast to take the money and so conspicuous by your absence when it comes to service. If I go and queue and take the time to make an affadavit and then scan it and send it to you, will you may me my hourly labour rate? Seeing as you have wasted enough of my time, it's the least you can do.
