Vodacom *****
I have contacted Vodacom countless times trying to resolve this issue.
On the 4th of November 2020 I called the cancellations department to cancel my current contract. I spoke to “Agent A” who persuaded me not to cancel and that because I was a “Five Star” customer, I could get a great deal if I took another phone. I eventually gave in and I told him I wanted an iPhone 12 for the same price I’ve been paying for the current phone, since I’m such an “excellent customer”. He advised that the iPhone 12 hadn’t launched in RSA then, and that it would come end of the month(November), I told him I was prepared to wait. He then offered me airtime of R230 while I wait and when the iPhone 12 arrived it would convert to the iPhone contract(this he said we’re doing to bring down my current installment from R898 to around R300(the R230 airtime plus data on another line), which he said would be effective from my next invoice date. November statement and invoice came, it was still the R898, so I assumed it would be effective December, since it would have probably been too late for the November run. He promised to call me himself when the iPhone 12 arrived. When the December invoice came through, I was billed an amount of R860 that’s when I decided to find out what was going on because that was NOT what we’d agreed on.
I called on the 14th of December 2020 and spoke to “Agent B” who told me there was no such and that “Agent A” had actually **********ly misled me to take a two year airtime contract!! I nearly fainted!!!! Why would I take a contract for JUST airtime???? For TWO YEARS???? And what about the iPhone I was waiting for????? He(“Agent B”)said he would get “Agent A” to call me back to rectify this. No call came through. I then called back on the 15th of December 2020 and spoke to “Agent C” and asked her to put me through to either “Agent B” or “Agent A” and she said she would put me through to “Agent B” because he was in her team. She came back saying “Agent B” was on a call, he would call me back as soon as he was done. Waited the whole day again, no call came through.
I called back again on the 18th of December 2020 and spoke to “Agent D” and I had to explain my issue all over again and she said she was working from home and couldn’t transfer my call to a manager, said she would log a request for someone to call me back, call never came.
On the 21st of December 2020, I called AGAIN, spoke to “Agent E” who was also working from home and couldn’t put me through to a manager on the floor. I called again and spoke to “Agent F”, after having to explain AGAIN what my issue was, told me he was also working from home, but gave me an e-mail address(***) to send my grievance to and assured me somebody would definitely get back to me, to this day, NOT A SINGLE CALL BACK FROM VODACOM.
I have wasted too much of my airtime calling. What other avenues can I pursue to get help?
