Vodacom Fourways Mall putrid service.
27th November 2022, I walked into Vodacom store Fourways Mall, firstly it took close to an hour just to get a consultant to assist us on a Sunday afternoon. I was intent on upgrading my contract to an IPhone 13. But when I asked the consultant for it, he said those phones aren't worth it because you have to pay for everything, what I picked up from our conversation is that he wanted to sell what was in stock just to make a sale. He ended up selling me a Samsung s22. I got home, charged the phone but once I transferred my stuff from my old phone over, the new phone battery just starting draining fast. The next morning(less than 24 hrs after taking the phone) I went back to return it. But the guy abruptly said, " here's the paperwork, you've signed for an out of box warranty so you cannot return the phone" I did express my anger at this and that I would not accept it but in the end I had to because he did not care budge. He told me they would check what's wrong and get back to me in 3 days. 4 days later that Friday, I called in and was promised a call back but nothing, The next Monday I called in and someone told me, I should have already picked my phone up because it's been there a few days, I was livid, when they told me there's nothing wrong, just a software upgrade, why would a battery die so quick due to that and why wasn't I given the phone with the latest software? I took the phone but got home and the same thing happened, I contacted Ricardo and said I would like to get another phone and he said no, that's not policy, I would need to send in again, this was now two weeks without the phone I took and I took it for work purposes so I was losing money in the mean time due to having a faulty old phone while waiting. Eventually I called Vodacom to complain and someone told me to just keep the phone and they would organize someone to fetch it and cancel the contract, I'm still wait 1 month later. Then we called Duane who is the regional manager of that franchise, he said I must go leave the phone back and he will personally see to it that I'm sorted, by this time I did not want to have that phone back as I work on the road in dangerous places and cannot afford to have an unreliable phone. He said he would take it to another repair center and if they see something wrong he will organize a new phone. That was almost a month ago, since then I've sent numerous messages to him and everytime he gives a different story, first it was that it was the festive season, then he said Samsung said the phone is perfect, I asked him numerous times if the phone was tested with a load of memory being used because that's how I was going to use it, he never answered. Fow the last two weeks I just got tired of fighting so I didn't message him, he also never messaged me which he promised he would. I am not 1.5 months into a contract for a phone I have never used. Vodacom, this is pathetic.
