Vodacom Finance System Is Flawed – Reassessment Required!
My name is Alzandri. (ID and full details can be provided if needed). I recently app**** for a mobile contract with Vodacom and was approved—but only for a SIM-only contract. This is absolutely unacceptable considering my financial standing.
Earlier this year (February), I was approved for vehicle finance of R650,000 —proof of this is available. I declined that deal because I’m saving for a larger deposit. Now Vodacom tells me I only qualify for entry-level mobile options?
Let’s be clear: I want an iPhone 16 for myself, and an S25 Ultra with smar****ch for my husband. These two phones combined don’t even total R55,000, and yet Vodacom sees fit to restrict me to SIM-only? Something is seriously broken in your credit assessment system.
I have a credit score of 660 on Experian, which is better than 90% of South Africa, and my income comfortably supports a high-end mobile deals. Meanwhile, people employed by us, who earn far less, qualify for better mobile contracts. How is this fair?
We visited a Vodacom store this past Saturday for assistance, and frankly, it was a waste of time. The staff had no answers and no idea how to escalate or solve this issue. The same applies to the online team—nobody can provide a straight answer or escalate the matter properly.
I am happy to share my full financial information, because I’m confident this isn’t a me problem. It’s a Vodacom problem. Please re-evaluate my application and correct this mistake. I refuse to be treated like this by a company that should be able to offer better service to high-quality customers.
This whole experience has been frustrating, humiliating, and clearly points to serious issues in Vodacom's finance and vetting systems. Fix this.
My income supports this level of credit easily.
Meanwhile, people working for us, earning far less, have been approved for better mobile phone contracts. We are paying their salaries, and they are walking around with flagship Mobile phones whilst we the employer are not? Seriously?

- My current device is no longer reliable.
- I do not want to spend R10,000 on a cash purchase for a temporary solution.
- I am trying to secure a proper long-term device through your contract offering.
- I’ve shown loyalty to Vodacom, but you are making it extremely difficult to remain a customer.
