Vodacom Fibre—what a farce—**** promises
I deeply regret subscribing to Vodacom fibre broadband. When their salesperson roamed our streets, I was kind enough to allow him into my house and listen to his extended sales pitch. As is customary with most salespeople, he made promises that were never kept; first month free, and backup 4G network, should the fibre network go down. After signing the contract, and receiving the router, I soon regretted my decision. We never received a SIM card, and there is no backup 4G option. The billing fluctuates, and when we question the reasons, we are told it is within their rights. What a farce. I have proof of the SMS messages we received to show that our Internet goes down at least once a month. They blame it on third party infrastructure and/or load shedding. Just tell us the truth. I know all my neighbours, who are on the same backbone, e.g. FrogFoot, and their Internet is up while ours go down. How is this possible? They subscribe to Afrihost fibre broadband and never have complaints. Does Vodacom deliberately take down our Internet to force us to buy airtime? I cannot wait for this contract to expire and if I can find an option to get out of this contract, I will do so in the blink of an eye. I pray my complaint reaches a wide audience and will warn others against the pitfalls of Vodacom fibre. Do not even think about it, you have other options, exercise your rights. If I could give Vodacom a minus-10 rating, I would, but they limit us to a 1-star rating, which is way too high for this type of pathetic service.
