VODACOM FIBRE - UNPROFFESIONAL AT IT'S BEST WITH A FLAWED SYSTEM.

I have been with Vodacom Fibre since 1 September 2021, and have upgraded my plan twice since then, paying R1,179.00 every month. Nothing has ever gone, until my debit order on the 7th of December 2025 was returned. When I realised what had happened, I called Vodacom asking them whether I should pay it now or just double to debit on the 7th January 2026. The agent confirmed that a double debit was in order.

On the 6th of January 2026 my account was suspended, one day before my debit order goes off. I then called Vodacom, to which the response was, "we need proof of payment before we reconnect you".

If the double debit was not unacceptable, nobody told me otherwise.....to suspend my account the day before my debit order goes through? All the agents are able to say i "Yeeees, ma'am, you are in arrears, we need proof of payment before we can re-instate you." I called Vodacom before they even realised that the December 2025 payment never went though to try and avoid the hassle that I am going though now.

On my second call to Vodacom, the agent did apologise and say that they were at fault and they would switch me on right away but it would take 1 to 5 hours to reconnect. Nothing was reconnected last night.

I called Vodacom again this morning, and I get the response, "Your account is in arrears ma'am, we need proof of payment before we can re-instate you, and no, we cannot override the system. Sounds like this system will cost them dearly, because I don't think i am the first, or the last person to experience the professionalism from Vodacom.

So now i have to wait patiently for the debit order to go through sometime today to be re-instated.

I will be cancelling this account once it has been re-instated, because they cannot cancel this account until they have... you guessed...received payment.

My double debit went off, as scheduled, only on the evening of 7th January 2026. I called this morning to ask Vodacom to unsuspend my line. The response to that was that I had to wait 2 or 3 days as they need to confirm that they have received the payment. I then offered to send them confirmation from my bank account as I have work to do on the internet urgently, to which they responded that they cannot do that. I then asked to speak to a manager.....who will only call me back in an hour.

Being a customer for nearly 5 years and getting this treatment is uncalled for. I wasn't even given a chance for the double debit to go through. And then they tell me that I never made that arrangement in December. They tell me that I only called through on 6 January 2026? It's quite obvious that the system they is using is as *********** as their staff.

For missing a payment in nearly 5 years, and on top of that, I did call in on 11 December to arrange for the double debit so that my service was not interrupted, which, conveniently, they have no record of. Really? REALLY?

To anyone wanting to sign-up with Vodacom..,..make sure your payments go through every month, because they treat you like a ******** if you miss one payment, even if you thought they an arrangement was in place. Their system is as inadequate as thier staff.

It has been more than an hour now and no manager has called me back. It seems that they are not concerned about their existing long-time customers. I wonder who who is paying Vodacom's expenses?
