Vodacom Fibre support Failure, just don't care
Dear Vodacom Fibre Support and Technical Team, Durban
***-182751
I am formally escalating an unresolved fibre service failure that remains active despite repeated contact and incorrect classification as an “area outage.”
My service went down on Wednesday. I contacted support and was informed that it was an area outage. No proactive notification was sent to customers—I had to call in myself to discover the outage status.
On Thursday, I was informed that the outage had been resolved and service had been restored. However, my line remains offline, along with at least one other client in the same area.
This confirms that the issue is not a general outage, but an individual line fault that has not been investigated or resolved.
At this point, the handling of this issue is unacceptable:
The fault was not proactively communicated to affected customers
The issue was incorrectly classified as an area outage
No technician has been dispatched to inspect the line
No investigation has been conducted despite clear evidence that the problem persists
Action only appears to occur when customers repeatedly follow up
If I had not repeatedly contacted support, no action would have been taken at all.
This reflects a failure in both communication and fault resolution processes.
I require the following immediate actions:
Correct classification of this issue as an individual fibre fault (not an outage)
Dispatch of a technician to investigate the physical line and restore service
A clear resolution timeframe
Confirmation of responsibility for this fault being actively managed
This matter is now urgent. If it is not resolved promptly, I will escalate formally to ICASA due to continued service failure and lack of effective technical response.
I am available at the premises at any time for access.

I am now on day 3 without fibre from Vodacom — and it’s clear nothing is going to happen before the weekend.
My service went down on Wednesday due to an area outage. By Thursday, I was told the outage was fixed — but my line is still down. A fault was logged under ***-182751, and since then it’s just been endless “escalations” with zero action.
Now it’s Friday.
Let’s be honest:
Nothing is going to be fixed today.
No one is coming out.
No one is taking responsibility.
This will drag through the entire weekend while I sit without fibre — all because Vodacom cannot fix their own infrastructure.
I was told a senior consultant, Majdie Mood, would contact me. That never happened.
All I get are meaningless one-line responses like:
“Status updated.”
That is not support. That is not service.
Let’s be clear:
This is NOT a problem in my home
This is NOT my equipment
This is a Vodacom infrastructure failure
So what exactly am I paying nearly R1000 per month for?
Premium fibre?
Or unreliable service, poor infrastructure, and completely ineffective customer support?
At this point, the service is not just down — it’s non-existent, and Vodacom seems perfectly comfortable doing nothing about it.

This is remarkable, the level of pathetic service.
No words.

If you are looking for fibre, avoid Vodacom, they a giant that refuses customer service, you are a number they will exploit and their staff are trained to ignore you.
My biggest mistake thinking they have a ethos of service, total opposite you are an inconvenience, a wallet they can exploit.

I SPOKE TO Luvo at your call centre , His team team leader, Mlungisi, hopefully he does assist in getting at least one competent Vodacom person to fix this mess.
Just to highlight, your area outage, was twice in 3 days, you assigned inferior technicians that *****ed up the lines, that's what I was told, instead of informing me, your vodacom staff gave me the run around,
Your staff, not the outsourced call centre are as *********** and none service driven, able to speaks lies, frustrate the customer, never contact customer, never resolve issues unless it's reported to social media.
Once again you will sweep this under the proverbial carpet and allow all customers to suffer due to incompetence in your staffing.
I ONCE AGAIN REQUEST ANYONE WANTING FIBRE, NOT TO USE VODACOM YOU ASKING FOR PURE HEADACHE AND FRUSTRATION DUE TO SHEER INCOMPETENCE, SENIOR STAFF ARE OF SAME CLAIBUR AND INCOMPETENCE IN MY OPION.
