Vodacom fibre Support Bad service

My review is regarding Vodacom as my Fibre ISP.

When ever I have any issues with my internet been down, it's always a mission in getting assistance from Vodacom suppport.

You get put on hold for a long period of time, when ever they try and resolve an issue there is always a problem and they are unable to resolve immediately.

They send me a new Vodafone H500-s router that's takes between 30 minutes and an hour and a half to re-establish an internet connection or Obtain an Ip address whenever its powered off and on again including when load shedding ends.

I have logged a request for vodacom to configure my old router which was a Huawei router which I hardly had any issues with, request was logged on 20/01/2023 and still not done, not to mention the multiple services tickets I have logged for not having internet access.

I have had no Internet access from yesterday 05/02/2023 11am.

I spent most of my day yesterday on the phone with Vodacom Support, mainly on hold, they advise they will assist in configuring my old router as they were unable to connect to the Vodafone H500-s.

I was advised to connect my old router and provide them with the serial number so that they can send down the configs for the new router to work.

This was done twice, each time having to wait 1 to 2 hours for the configs to take effect on my router and still no internet access.

I was advised to keep my old router on and connected to my ONT as they need to escalate to Metro Fibre, for what I don't know as the ONT was up and running.

Today I get home from work just after 5pm, and still no internet access.

So my wife says why don't you just plug the New Vodafone H500-s router back in, maybe it will work, and guess what, internet access is back on.

Now ***, why is my time been wasted. I am in IT, I work from home, I depend on an Internet connection in order to do the work I do, in order to do my job which I have stated every time I call for assistance.

Did they actually do what they advised me they were doing, did they remove the serial number for the new router and add the serial for the old router when trying to send down the configs or are they just bluffing me.

I Do not have faith in the support vodacom provides as it seems they lack the knowledge to support the product or service they are providing, which we as customers are paying for.

My Internet connection has been restored, however my request has not been actioned.

I am still going to have an issue when my router powers off and back on again.

That is why I logged a service ticket for Vodacom to assist in removing my new router and to configure my old router for use.

The new Vodafone H500-S router I was provided when I app**** for a relocation is a problem.

This has been confirmed by myself, a Metro Fibre technician who assisted me with the relocation and a vodacom Fibre Support consultant who tried assisting me.

When I app**** for the relocation, I asked if I could keep using my old router and I was advised that a new router had to be issued.

I know people who are using the same Vodafone H500-S router and are experiencing the same issues, and that is why I wanted to use my old router as I wanted to avoid as much down time as possible.

The new H500-S router that was provided to me, when rebooted or when load shedding kicks in, when the router powers back on, the router takes 30 minutes to 90 minutes to obtain an Ip address to provide internet access which is unacceptable.

My old router takes less than 5 minutes to obtain an ip address and provide internet access.

And again. I work from home, I cannot afford down time as this effects my job.

Vodacom is clearly not interested in assisting me.

I am still awaiting my old router to be configured, the ticket I logged for this has been resolved, a consultant will call me while I am at work or away from home, I advise on a time to call me, which the consultant agrees upon, but no call back?

Why is my ticket closed if my request has not been actioned?

I am really not happy with the support service provided by Vodacom fibre
This is the **** that makes you want to look for a different ISP.
