Vodacom Fibre - NOT

With no fibre options in my area, Vodacom finally lay fibre in our road, and contracted a 3rd party to hook up the units in our estate. 17 Sep was given as a go live date. Today on 9/11/2019, there is still nothing in site. I asked for the LTE option which they advertise, but also not managed to secure that. Asked for the LTE multiple times. Excuses like short on stock, etc, blah... You know the stories. In the meantime I terminated my RAIN sub as I was expecting fibre (or LTE), but nothing came. I am now signing up for RAIN again and cancelling my fibre installation.

This is not to try get anything from Vodacom. This is to alert others out there that there ARE other options. You don't have to put up with Vodacom just because there are no other fibre providers in your area. Use anything else (LTE/3G/x) - just not Vodacom. If they cannot get an installation right, imagine the ongoing support and potential issues. Stay as far away as you can!
