Vodacom Fibre Internet Installation (or rather no-Installation)
I called Vodacom as I moved into a new complex (they own the fibre line). The agent on the phone advised me to submit my order online, which I did whilst on the phone, the vetting happened, I was approved and I was advised the router will be delivered the next day, which obviously didnt happen. I eventually received the router. The installation team was appointed between 6-9 March to install the router. Today is the 17th, it has not happened. Everytime I call back I am told that the matter is "escalated". I then called again yesterday (16 March) and was advised that there is no tickets logged, there is no escalations, there has been no appointments of installation teams, etc. I then requested the order to be cancelled - was transferred to retentions, at first the agent was sortof friendly, but after explaining to why I want to cancel - she became rude and she gave me a reference and practically dropped the phone in my ear. Wonderful retention team, I don't want to know what their retention rates are (I used to work in retentions so I know what is required). Nonthelesss. I was going to move all my other lines to Vodacom (since I prefer to be with one provider) but that is NOT HAPPENING after being treated like that. I will remain with my current providers, and have no choice but to have Fibre with Vodacom since the complex is practically forcing me.
The friendly customer service and Service Level Agreements they repeat on recorded lines seems to be limited to the duration of the Sales Call.
So if you want to have any network provider related service, perhaps go to these new AI ones - seems like AI provides better customer service than actual humans in modern South Africa.
The purpose of this complaint was not to seek a response from Vodacom on a public forum, but rather to make others aware of my (and clearly 92% of other users on this platform who rated the Vodacom Service) experience with those who are responsible for managing business-and-client relationships.
Thank you for your response, the complaints department indeed seems like they are getting back to customers - not sure what is happening in the other departments though.
