Vodacom Fibre - Expect to wait weeks for your internet activation (after installation completed)

Be sure you plan on weeks without internet if you select Vodacom as your ISP via a Frogfoot fibre installation - the installation was completed on 10 December. Long story short, this morning was telephone call number 5 since then to get the internet "activated". Every call is the same, "sorry for the delay" / "we escalated your enquiry" / "our agents will phone you" / "it will be activated in 24 hours" etc etc but nothing actually happens. We've been told by two call centre agents that this is normal and it takes weeks simply because Vodacom does not have enough resources and staff in the technical department to service their clients. What a great irony because we selected Vodacom, who are more expensive, because we thought that as one of SA's blue chip companies we would receive first class service. We can't even cancel because they threaten us with cancellation penalties and charges (despite no service received to date). I can understand a day or two or three or even a week but it's nearly THREE WEEKS - surely it's a matter of minutes to click a button and activate our account? Terrible personally experience and definitely wish we had made a different choice of ISP.
