Vodacom Fibre Doesn't Process Cancellation Requests and Keeps Charging You
I called Vodacom to cancel my fiber on the 8th of May because I was moving overseas. You cannot make the cancellation request online or via email, so you have to call them. When I called (reference SR***), I was instructed to send an email (because you cannot send the email at first, but when you call, they tell you to send an email, go figure) to *** to request the cancellation. I was also told that Vodacom would only cancel my fiber line after the payment of my next bill, which is in the contract so it is perfectly fine. This email, sent on the 13th of May created a new reference (SR***). Nobody ever rep****. I called again after a few days without any reply to my email and I was told I did everything I had to do and that my fiber would be cancelled after the following month and that they (the callcenter people) could not provide me with confirmation in writing. I kept on sending emails (same reference) requesting confirmation of the cancellation. Sent email on the 24th of May, 7th of June and 26th of June. No reply. You can see the ticket changes status but nothing is done. Then, I had to contact Vodacom on Twitter to be able to get someone (Sophia - Vodacom FTTH Support Team) to send me an email requesting information. I told her that I had already given Vodacom the notice they requested and that if she could confirm that the debit order was already stopped. She didn't confirm anything and just sent me a quote for the payment of the last two installments of the modem payment, which is also fair. Now, Vodacom took another month of fiber payment from my bank account. So my doubt is if Vodacom gives, on purpose, wrong instructions for cancellations (because I called twice and received the same instructions) or if they simply ignore the cancellation requests until they can take at least another month of payment from their customers.
