Vodacom Fibre does not give a damn.
In October 2018, fibre cabling was installed at our complex in Bedford Gardens. I contacted Vodacom Fibre to provide data. I stated in writing that the lease of my apartment would end at 30 November 2019 and I did not want the data contract with Vodacom Fibre to extend beyond that date. As it turned out, the initial cabling was damaged and was only repaired by June 2019, which was when Vodacom Fibre installed their modem and first provided data. During the interim period, I informed them again, in writing that I did not want the contract to extend beyond 30 November and was assured by a tele-sales person that this was the case. On 30 October, I informed Vodacom Fibre that I was moving and requested them to send a technician to collect their modem. Their response has been to refer to a clause in a contract I have never seen and to say that I must either pay several thousand Rand for the modem or keep the contract going for the next 6 to 12 or an infinite number of months. I have found the Vodacom Customer Care in their cell phone section to be very professional and competent. Vodacom Fibre's care of its customers does not exist.
