Vodacom Fibre Department - An unprofessional, frustrating and unreliable service!
Our experience with the level of service received from Vodacom Fibre has been nothing short of exhausting and frustrating. Since taking out the contract just over 2 months ago, we have requested a debit order to be set up as our payment option. Since then, we have received calls stating that we had to do a manual payment because the debit order had not been set up, and that our line would be suspended. We made the manual payment and were told that the debit order will be set up going forward. On Wednesday, 11th September 2019, we received another call, warning us that if payment was not made immediately, our line would be suspended. We then proceeded to inform the consultant that we had requested a debit order to be set up 2 months ago and were informed that it still had not taken effect. We then, without complaint, went to a Vodacom store personally paid our account at a Vodacom store on the same day. However, the account was STILL suspended and the deactivation took effect on Saturday, 14th September 2019, 3 days AFTER we had already made a direct payment. We proceeded to call the help line, only to be told that payment has been received, but they "still do not know why the account is still suspended". The consultants proceeded to send emails to the Legal department, who is in control of reactivating the line, however, we were not informed that the legal department is closed on a weekend AND the consultant told us that our line will be up and running in less than 24 hours (by Sunday, 15th September 2019). This was a blatant LIE, as the consultant knew very well that the legal department would only be able attend to the issue the following Monday (16th September), as it was a billing query and the billing department is CLOSED on a weekend. We were forced to wait more than 48 hours before we could even speak to a consultant to investigate our account status even further. On the Monday morning, I had called 3 times, and only after the 3rd attempt, was I assisted by a consultant by the name of Michelle, who was competent to address our issue. During the 48 hours of no internet connection, we were forced to fork out no less than R500 on alternative data so that business could continue as usual, at our own expense. It is appalling to learn that there is NO support for emergency billing queries on a weekend, and it is equally shocking to experience the unprofessionalism and incompetence of some of the consultants in the Fibre / Connectivity department. This service is definitely NOT recommended if you are seeking professionalism, competency and good service.
