Vodacom Fibre

During September 2019 I was interested in the Vodacom Fibre 50mbs deal that was at the time R949 per month. I already had an account with Vodacom, linked to my employer's corporate contract. I was told that they could not create a separate account. I was concern that my employer could end up getting billed and asked to rather not go ahead any further. I was assured that this would be fine. At this point no instillation or service was ever provided.

Forward 4 years later on 7 August 2023 Vodacom started debiting my account R949 for a service that was never provided. I did contact Vodacom Fibre who assured me on the 7 August 2023 that the matter would be resolved. On the 13 November 2023 I received a phone call from Vodacom legal to say that I am in arrears and if they can go ahead and debit the now R2847.03 from my account or do I wish to do this in instalments. I asked the person from legal to please explain where the R2 847.03 stems from. He could not provide me the details and asked if I could phone 082 135 and provide the service department the account number, he gave me. Frustratingly.

On the 13 November 2023 I lodged a complaint on Hellopeter to which I received a response from Vodacom on the both the 14th and 16th November 2023 as well as an e-mail confirming that there is no amount owing.

Since the 18th of November 2023 I am still receiving phone calls and e-mails from MBD and despite e-mailing them and explaining over the phone on numerous occasions on what had transpired they now sent a letter stating minimum payment to be made in the next seven days and non-compliance may result in the actions of credit impairment and taking legal recourse.

I have wasted countless hours with this unnecessary harassment.

Received a letter from Vodacom legal collections.

That is where to positive news ends... They have notified the credit bureau that the account has now been paid in full. So let me guess I will have a negative record on my name for non-payment for an error that was made by Vodacom.

Good luck trying to get through to the 082 135 number as you need to enter a Vodacom cell number to get through to Customer Care. Good luck phoning the legal department on *** as it will ask you to enter your ID number just to tell you that you entered an invalid ID number.
