Vodacom Fibre

VODACOM FIBRE EXTREMLY POOR SERVICE AGENTS NOT TRAINED ON THEIR OWN PORTAL. I app**** for Vodacom Fibre and was asked to make payment for them to install and activate. I made payment then waited more then two weeks for them to figure out that they still have to install a router but they kept saying my line is active. When they finally did install the router I was instructed to log into the Vodacom self help portal where I could see how many days of internet connectivity I have and that the line was active. I logged in and saw that I had 30 days and the line was active but I did not have internet for that full first day and I queried it. It was then explained to me that the system will not cut off at exactly 30 days but will give me a reminder to pay and a day or so to sort out payment for the following month. This never happened and I decided to just let it go as numerous calls just showed me that the agents themselves does not know how the customer self help portal works. Almost every query I am instructed to contact Vumatel directly to try and sort out my issues. I received a reminder on 12 August 2025 to make payment for the new month as my service will be cut on 13 Augaust 2025 at 18:06:09 which is very specific. My service was cut at 00:00 on 12 August 2025 yet the customer portal shows I have 1 day of internet connectivity left.

Hi Vodacom
The agent I spoke to yesterday said that my router needed to be restarted. I did and nothing happened but after I made a Payment within minutes the internet was restored. The agent that called me in response to my Hello Peter post said he would follow up with Vuma as to why they had cut my service. I have not received any feedback from him but am hoping that he does get back to me. How many other customers just pay to renew their service without actually checking if they had used up their full 30 days of service ? If you pay for a new month any days you may have had from the old month will be lost.

Hi Vodacom
This query has still not been resolved by you guys and this month. My service was cut again with about 20 hours left and this makes me wonder how many other customers are being cut off early as well. I spoke to three agents on Friday with one just dropping the call after I asked to speak to a supervisor and for her name when she said she could not connect me. The vodacom fibre call centre agents are not trained or do not know how to use their own self help portal.Thebe the supervisor thank you for attempting to resolve the issue by calling Vuma as well. Vuma has confirmed on Friday that there is no issue with the line and that it is not an infrastructure issue or billing issue. Tsulu (apologies if my spelling is wrong) from vuma truly did her best to assist but was unable to resolve the issue as it was not on their side. The vodacom system according to their self help portal works like this. you pay for your new 30 day cycle and the portal shows you have 30 days left. Three days before your 30 days expires you receive an sms from vodacom reminding you that your service will expire in 3 days and at what time. If you calculate the 30 days yourself down to the last minute you would find that the sms sent by vodacom is correct. At 12 midnight on the day before your expiry day your service will be cut. No matter how you try and explain and tell them about the sms or for them to calculate the days they will either tell you that its a technical issue or that you need to make payment. No consideration is given that you are being ****** of hours. and if you pay the exact time your service is cut you could be losing up to a full day if not even more.
Also there is no thought given as to how those hours or days could be paid back. I made a payment on Friday 12 Sep 2025 @ 18:58 for the new 30 day cycle and have calculated that my service should expire on 12 Oct 2025 @ 18:58.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Dear Vodacom

Yes my service was activated on the Saturday 12th of April 2025 but I didn't have internet connectivity until Monday 14th April 2025 and I have the whats app messages with screen shots of your self help portal showing this. I was told by a vodacom agent as well that I would be given a grace period of 1-2 days to make payment for the next cycle of 30 days. This grace period never happens as the service gets cut before the cycle has expired. If your reply is anything to go by then it just confirms that you guys don't even know how your systems work. If your self help portal that every agent keeps telling me to use tells me that I have 1 day of connectivity left then I should still have 1 day of service left but my service gets cut 20 hours before the time. Vodacom sends you an sms stating when your service will be cut with the exact date and specific TIME. Your system calculates the hours for 30 days which would amount to 720 hours ,it does not just calculate the days but the hours as well. So from the TIME of paying for the new 30 day cycle your system calculates when my service will expire on what day and at what TIME . KEEP IN MIND THAT I DO NOT THUMB SUCK THE 30 DAYS OR 31 DAYS I READ YOUR SMS THAT YOUR SYSTEM SENDS ME AND IT TELLS ME WHEN MY SERVICE SHOULD EXPIRE AND AT WHAT TIME. I made a payment on Friday 12 Sep 2025 @ 18:58 for the new 30 day cycle and have calculated that my service should expire on 12 Oct 2025 @ 18:58. Please get someone trained to reply or respond to my query as I would like to know if and when vodacom will reimburse me for the hours lost.

I am guessing that Vodacom does not acknowledge that there is a problem or does not feel the need to prove me wrong.

Dear Vodacom

This is the sms we received from Vodacom today.

Hi (Customer Name), This is a friendly reminder that your internet access, , expires in 3 days on 2025-10-12 18:58:42. To purchase another once-off plan, sign in to your profile on www.vodacom.co.za/fibre/prepaid/?login=true
Please note exact details matching my earlier post on 16 Sep 2025 at 12:20 on what day and time my service should expire. Your system seems to be working just fine as it even gives the time right up to the seconds. It just seems Like no one at Vodacom Fibre feels the need to use it.

Your previous post states "
Vuma does not refund for downtime."
Please explain or elaborate what downtime is as I do not understand this statement.
Downtime in my understanding would be when there is system maintenance or load shedding or a power outage.
I don't understand how cutting off my service prematurely would be classified as downtime.

Your Previous post also states. " Kindly contact Vuma Reach directly."
If you read my previous post from 15 Sep 2025 at 11:27 it reads as below."Thebe the supervisor(Vodacom Fibre) thank you for attempting to resolve the issue by calling Vuma as well. Vuma has confirmed on Friday that there is no issue with the line and that it is not an infrastructure issue or billing issue. Tsulu (apologies if my spelling is wrong) from vuma truly did her best to assist but was unable to resolve the issue as it was not on their side."

Vuma has confirmed with the Vodacom Fibre agent that the issue is not with them.

Vodacom please take a serious look at your systems and prove me wrong.
I have no issue with making a public apology for making an incorrect statement.

Dear Vodacom

My service was again cut prematurely on Saturday evening at midnight. Sunday morning I woke up with no internet connectivity. I checked the Vodacom customer portal and it said that I still had a day of service left more specifically 11 Hours. I checked the Vodacom customer portal at around 06:40 on Sunday morning. This meant that I lost 18 hours of connectivity. I really don't understand how Vodacom tells me to use the customer portal and the portal tells me every time when my service will be cut and then Vodacom tells me the portal is wrong. I have the screen shots from the Vodacom customer portal to prove all this.

Dear Vodacom

Yes the prepaid service is valid for a 30 day period I agree with that. Your Vodacom customer portal also indicates that you would have a 30 day period. The 30 day period commences as soon as payment is done right?

As soon as I make payment within a few minutes my service is reactivated.
I made payment on the 12th of October 2025 at 08:00 AM.
When should my service expire ?
Please let me know exactly when my service will be cut.

Your Vodacom customer portal calculates the 30 days and includes the hours.
I would understand
24hours in a day times 30 days equals to 720 hours. I made payment on 12th October at 08:00 AM in the morning.
Taking into account that October has 31 days I have calculated that my service should expire on 11th October 2025 at 08:00 AM in the morning.

I am guessing that my service will be cut on the 10th November 2025 at 00:00.
This will be at least 8 hours before the actual cut of time.

My posts have all confirmed that the vodacom customer portal is correct but am I to understand that it is not and that I should not be using the customer portal ?

I am guessing that Vodacom must be tired of my posts as they are not replying.
So just as I had said my service was cut on the 10th November 2025 at 00:00. I checked the Vodacom self service portal and it said I still had a day of service left. I also signed into the network and it gave me a message from Vuma showing that I still had 12 hours of service left. I have the screen shots to show this. I also tried logging another ticket on the Vodacom self service portal but since the system only allows for two open tickets at a time and I still had two open tickets from April that has never been attended to. I don't know what to do or who to turn to as it seems like Vodacom is ignoring my posts.
