Vodacom Fiber

I app**** for Fiber with Vodacom March 24th. It’s April 19 and guess what.....Yeap, still waiting.

I was offered the interim LTE where they give you 100Gigs. With streaming and on line schooling, we all know that 100gigs is nothing.

I was told that Fiber will be installed in 5 to 7 days. I guess Vodacom has a different way of counting days. The LTE modem was delivered April 1 but they failed to mention that it takes 72 hours for the router and Som card to be activated.

I do understand that with Covid 19 things are uncertain but each time I called in, I would get the same response, we will escalate get back to you.

After 2 weeks of fighting with Vodacom, I was told that the fiber installation company Link Africa is not working during the lockdown.

Now here’s my question, if Link Africa is not able to to assist Vodacom clients who takes responsibility for this! When I asked an agent, he was confident enough to say that I am to blame for this. So so grateful that all calls are recorded.....I just hope that someone listens to these calls. The nerve that this guy has to blame me for all this was just beyond me.

The I ran out of data and had to load data. The agent that took the call, told me that I needed to cancel my application coz it was load as Fiber to the Business and it should have been loaded as Fiber to the Home.

Now, how is that my fault? All I want is Fiber so that I am able to work from home and the kids can continue with in line schooling.

A Business Partner by the name of Iftikar called and assured me that he would call me back or get back to me by Friday April 17. I guess he meant April 17 2021 coz I am still waiting to hear back.

The package I signed up for is the uncapped at R900 a month. I have had to top up 100Gig each week at R599.00......I can’t afford to to top up R599 every week. No one seems to understand my frustration and all they say is , “we will escalate and get back to you”.

Vodacom sucks
