Vodacom Fiber - An Absolute Nightmare!!!!

I signed up with Vodacom Fibre back in Dec 2018 when they actively promoted fibre deals in my neighborhood when the fibre lines were been installed. They told me then that it would take around 3 months for the area to become live. I waited patiently for my road to be completed and for my area to be live.

Once my area was live, which I could tell by the Frog Foot website, I waited for Vodacom to contact me to organise the rest of the fiber process which did not happen. I then called vodacom myself to get the fiber pulled through into my property without any success. The response logged on the system was that the fiber was not live in my area, but Frog Foot's website it clearly showed as live.

In the mean while I took out the Intrim LTE package which was delivered and activated without any issues. I called the call centre countless times in order for them to push to get the fiber lined pulled into my property without any success. Eventually in early February after battling to try and get the fiber pulled into my property, I decided to cancel with Vodacom and try a different service provider. I signed up VOX who were absolutely fantastic. They organised to pull the fiber cable into my property within 3 days of signing up.

Once the fiber was in, I then get an email from Vodacom saying that in order to cancel my Vodacom subscription I needed to pay the R1700 fiber installation charge. Somehow Vodacom had booked the installation under their name although I am 100 percent sure that it was not Vodcacom who had arranged the fiber to be installed in my property but it was VOX who had pushed it.

As the line was pre-booked by Vodacom, and as I refused to pay the R1700 installation charge, I was forced to try and get my fiber line active with Vodacom. I therefore withdrew the cancellation and unfortunately could not resume my fiber line activation with VOX as the line was blocked by Vodacom.

So I continued with the LTE service, and was promised that the router installation team would contact me with the setup.

They did contact me a week later and made an appointment for the router installation/activation that Friday afternoon. After rushing back from work to meet the installation team at my home, I waited and waited, but no installation team showed up, nor was I contacted to inform me that could not make it.

I phoned the call centre and they were unable to assist me nor give me any contact numbers.

On the Monday I contacted the call centre fiber installation department and we attempted to setup the fiber / router manually. I plugged in the fiber, and with that my LTE service stopped working and on top of it the fiber connection was unsuccessful.

As from last Monday evening I have had no internet services. I have spent hours on the phone with call centre agents to try and resolve this, without success. I have been promised to be contacted back by various mangers / team leaders who have just not done so except on one occasion.

At this stage I wished I had of just paid the installation charge and cancelled with Vodacom.

So now I am sitting without an internet service that I am paying for. Vodacom is the worst telecommunication provider I have ever dealt with and I suggest if anyone is looking at fiber deals, they should look to sign up with VOX.
