Vodacom false advertising - dishonest
Today, I bought a wi-fi router at Pep Cell. In the display window it showed the price as R299 or R249 and 50 + 50 GB data. The ladies whos assisted me said that the data will be allocated once the sim is activated.
So I activated the sim on my device and the message confirmed activation. 2Gb only was loaded.
So what do I have to do now to get the other 98 Gig - as is also specified on my tillslip?
I bought the router specifically for the 50 +50 gig data as was advertised in store.
If I don't get it I'm not interested in 2 Gig? Then I want to cancel the transaction and return the router and want my money back please. You can't advertise you get 100 gig and then only give two, Vodacom?
You make yourself guilty of false advertising.

I have the payment slip that shows I paid for the 50 Gig promotion, as well as I have photos of the promotional item as displayed in the shop as well as on their computer screen showing clearly 50 + 50 Gig.
I must submit this to the advertising complaints commission I think. I've got good evidence exhibition one, two and three. I'm set for a good court case.

It's been a week since the above complaint. Nothing has been done and still I was not allocated the data I paid for.
Time to take further action.

I did receive a reply from Vodacom on my complaint today (11 days later) stating that I lost the 50 Gig promotional data because I first registered the sim card in another device and not the router.
I did so because your sales people at PEP cell instructed me that I MUST first put the sim card in a phone so I could get the confirmation of registration and the phone number if the sim card, before I put it in the router because I cannot get that info on the router.
I did as I was instructed.
No other instructions or warnings what to do in order to "earn" the promised data came with the router, the sim, or my proof of sales whatsoever, except the verbal instructions received from the sales persons which I did follow.
Now I am being told that I lost the 50 Gig and if I want to get it I must buy another one!
I already paid R299 for 50+50 Gig data!
Now I must pay R600 because Vodacom didn't inform me that I will lose the 50 Gig if I follow the sales people's instructions!
I think this is not only unfair but certainly *****ulent.
I need to take this matter further.
I need the relevant ombudsman contact details so I can report this **** by Vodacom.
False advertising in misleading customers.
I don't care if this turns in court. I actually hope it does because I want other people to be warned of the Vodacom/Pep collaboration to **** people.
I paid for 50+50 gig, 11 days ago.
I was informed to first register the sim card on a device other than the router before insertion in the router.
I only got 2 Gig and NOT 50+50 as promised and as advertised.
I immediately directed a complaint.
I didn't get any answer for 11 days until today that I am told I lost the 50 gig because I put the sim in another device (as was instructed by your sales people at Pep cell), and that if I want to have 50 Gog I should buy another.
I geel as if Vodacom ******* me and ****med me into buying something I didn't pay for.
I demand my data immediately or a full refund plus a public apology.
I have waited 11 days for an unsatisfactory reply, leaving me on my own devices. That is rude of Vodacom.
Please give me the Ombudsman and the relevant consumer complaint commissions contact details.
I am also thinking of opening legal action against Vodacom for not giving what they advertise.
