Vodacom False Advertising & 28% increase on existing contract!

Vodacom has been nothing but a disappointment form day one.

One of the selling points that got me to move from MTN was that when i started a new contract with Vodacom i was promised 10GB of data. Nobody told me and neither was it written anywhere that after the first month the 10GB of data will fall away. I had not even used much of the data at all (since i was trying to save it and use it sparingly) and it was taken away from me. I was very disappointed and felt ******. I contacted Vodacom and they told me that there was nothing that they can do and that i should have been told that the data would fall away... Vodacom are ******* and they advertise falsely! I eventually gave up and just accepted it since it really seemed that there nothing that i could do and nobody could help me.

NOW, i just received my new monthly bill and i see that my contract monthly payment has been increased by 28%!!! I have been in an ongoing battle over the phone with various departments and i have been back to the branch where i purchased the contract a number of times. Vodacom is telling me that the increase is legal and that it is in the fine print in their terms and conditions. I asked them to show me where i signed these terms and conditions since i cannot see it on my copy of the contract. Tell me this please! How can the contract price be increase after i have signed and agreed on the price? Never in my life have i heard of such a thing! Nobody told me and i did not sign such an agreement! I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT WHEN I STARTED THE CONTRACT THE PACKAGE I HAD SELECTED WAS ON DISCOUNT AND NOW THE DISCOUNT HAS FALLEN AWAY! NOBODY TOLD ME THIS AND I DO NOT AGREE! I DO NOT ACCEPT THE 28% INCREASE! I have contacted so many departments and spent so much time on the phone with them and they are really not helping me at all! Many agreed with me that it was unjust for them to increase my contract price, others said that it was legal as it was in the terms and conditions!

I am not accepting this! I am being ****** by Vodacom!

Good day

Thank you for taking my call.

Even with our cost reduction efforts, market conditions have made it necessary for us to increase prices on some of our products.

We apologise for the level of service received and for any inconvenience caused.

Regards

Vodacom did not answer my questions and i have not been shown where i signed such and open contract where Vodacom are allowed to change the price as they wish. I will be seeking legal advise as well as taking this up with the National Consumer Commission. Any money taken from me other than that which i agreed on when i initially started the contract will be considered as ****** money as i do not approve at all! Vodacom cannot just do as they please! Vodacom! You do not have my consent to take additional money from me!
