Vodacom false advertising

Last year, In November, I was contacted by Vodacom and offered an upgrade of a higher package(RED Package), for a cell phone contract, than the one I was on at the time.

I was told that if I decide to sign up for the new and extensive package, I would also receive a travel voucher worth R5000.00. I had agreed to taking the new package deal which I was made keen on by the consultant, only to find that it would be a tedious task to actually get the physical product.

Somehow, there was an error made by Vodacom and so after ONE very frustrating month of me making calls and correspondence, my phone was delivered but STILL no voucher.

It took another TWO WEEKS of me doing back and forth calling session between Vodacom and travel agency and Samsung , whereby only THEN was my voucher number was issued

The said voucher, expires in April 2019 and in order for me to get a voucher code, I also had to register on the “Made For Summer” website, which I had done but got no information on the voucher.

My issue here, is the fact that Vodacom has given me NO information on how to use/redeem this travel voucher, they have given NO feedback to my dozens of queries regarding this issue. Each time I was told that the matter was escalated and will be sorted but STILL , to no avail. I have even made contact with Flight Centre and Samsung, only to get referred to Vodacom once again. This is absolutely unacceptable as when it comes to advertising or offering these extensive cell phone packages, Vodacom does not stop calling whereas now, when there is failure to provide a service, there is a sudden lull.

I have made countless calls and contact with the Vodacom call centre/customer care and I urge them to pull up transcripts, their calls ARE recorded after all, the number of recordings pulled from my phone number will be quite astounding.

At the end of the day, following this poor service, lack of information and year long wait for feedback, I have summed up this “RED package deal” as nothing but false advertising. I’m extremely irate and angered as I was led to believe that I was signing up for an incredible deal but instead, I have had nothing but hassles and extremely poor service. What happens to this travel voucher, which is in fact, what swayed me to upgrade to this contract in the first place????

As NO joy was given upon constantly contacting Vodacom directly, regarding this issue, I will now take to Hello Peter and all social platforms.
