Vodacom fails client of 24 years!

We have been a Business customer with Vodacom for the past 24 years!!!

We feel Vodacom are not serious about customer service and customer satisfaction. We were billed an exorbitant rate for 'out of bundle' data for September 2018, which we disputed and logged a query. Our query was that the rate was not published on their website nor brought to our attention in any manner until AFTER we incurred the costs. They are duty bound, by Law, to publish their 'out of bundle' rates on their website AND advise their customers of their rates before usage, alternatively stop our data once our monthly threshold is reached. They claim we have an automatic data and voice activation, but dont tell us beforehand what are the rates for this automated service of continued data and voice is.

Despite our letter being clear, they merely rep**** stating obvious information, namely, the amount of data used and that SMSes were sent to me advising the costs and that the costs charged were in line of their 'out of bundle' rates. We continued to raise that these rates were exorbitant and not published in any manner. For 1,1GB of data out of bundle, we were billed R752-24, yet they offer you 3GB data for R299-00. To date they have not explained this and advised why their 'out of bundle' rates are not in line with these 'Top Up' rates. We also contested that SMSes were sent after the data was used not before. As a consequence we could not stop the usage as it was already incurred. Despite filing a query in October, to date, despite threats to make this public, we had not receive any feedback to our queries and whether they were going to credit us, or hold us liable for the data usage. They read our emails requesting finalisation of the query but failed to respond. They just ignored us and possibly hoped we would go away and just pay an unfair bill.

In fact a few minutes ago, my account was suspended. Yesterday, we had paid the balance due that was not in dispute, however it seems by disconnecting us, we were being strong-armed to pay even the disputed amount!

We are a business and rely on service delivery and expect our service providers to do the same. Sadly Vodacom has failed us, despite being a customer for the past 24 years!!!

Reviewer Update
We have shortly after filing this review been informed that a credit for the data is being passed, however our account is still suspended and no explanation can be given as to why this is the case, given that since a credit has been passed, we are no longer owing any balance. Furthermore, as the data was disputed and the balance paid, our account ought not to have been suspended, but as we have alluded to earlier, Vodacom does not apply its mind and has pursued strong-arm tactics. Most importantly, to date, no consultant has contacted us despite Vodacom replying to the above review saying someone would.
